The alumni and students’ “I Meet My Mentor” event aims to allow students to meet their mentors and interact with other participants. As a highlight of the Alumni program, this event helps strengthen the bonds between participants by emphasizing the importance of this initiative in students’ personal and professional development. This year, the mentoring program between alumni and students focused on international students.
This initiative led to the formation of 45 pairs of mentors/mentees progressing in a mentoring relationship, potentially entirely online, facilitating the participation of graduates located regionally or internationally. To participate, De Vinci Higher Education Alumni activated their accounts on the De Vinci Alumni website, registered as mentors and connected with their mentees.
The impact of high-quality mentoring
Mentoring goes far beyond a simple networking exercise. It involves exchanging information, contacts, advice, and support that can significantly and positively impact the mentees’ journey.
The Attendees at the after-work event were students seeking advice on the French market. During the event, they connected with experienced mentors.
Next semester, the mentoring program will be open to all students from schools within De Vinci Higher Education, thus offering an even wider audience an opportunity for learning and growth.
The after-work event I Meet My Mentor’s main objective
The MBA & MSc mentoring program aims to connect students with experienced De Vinci Higher Education graduate mentors to guide them through their academic journey, leveraging the mentor’s expertise in the industry and sector.
The Career Center and Devinci Alumni jointly manage this mentoring program. Their main objective is to allow MBA and MSc students, including international students, to benefit from their mentor’s experience, better understand the sector and functions they are interested in, and build their network.
Graduates can participate by joining the community of mentors and participating in an intergenerational transmission initiative involving one to three exchanges over six months between the student and their mentor.
A two-way participating format is possible:
- Structured guidance over several meetings (classic mentoring).
- A single “networking” meeting (meet and share).
The Mentors can be all De Vinci Higher Education school graduates (EMLV, ESILV, IIM, Devinci Executive Education) who have been in professional activity for at least three years and can mentor students in English.
