On 6 November EMLV organised the third edition of the Study Abroad Fair, the international student mobility fair of the Pole Leonard de Vinci. Coming from all over the world, more than 60 partner institutions were present at this 100% digital event.
Towards the beginning of November, it has become a tradition. Each year, the Study Abroad Fair marks the beginning of the first academic semester at the Pole Leonard de Vinci. It aims to inform students about the programmes being offered internationally: internships, double degrees, year or semester of study.
The 2020 edition, in a virtual format, brought together more than 1,000 students from the three schools of the Pole Leonard de Vinci, EMLV, ESILV and IIM and 60 universities on five continents.
Studying abroad, a third-year compulsory requirement
Studying abroad is an enriching personal experience and a real asset on a resume. At EMLV, academic mobility and an international internship in the third year of the Grande Ecole programme are also prerequisites for diploma validation.
This year abroad allows students to learn a lot about themselves and to develop their autonomy and adaptability. That’s an excellent opportunity to open up to other cultures, but also a perfect way to build an international career.
Thanks to more than a hundred agreements with institutions from all over the world, whether for a mobility semester or double diplomas, EMLV students receive multicultural and linguistic training which are assets for recruiters.
Study Abroad Fair 2020: as if we were there
During this virtual fair, students were able to meet the foreign partner institutions, which were present throughout the day and were grouped by continent: America & Africa, Europe, Central & Eastern Europe as well as Oceania & Asia.
Organised online in an interactive format, the Study Abroad Fair allowed students to exchange live with universities and to participate in dozens of zoom sessions held in three conference rooms in parallel.
Each university had its online stand, with all the practical information (name of the school, logo, country, address) as well as videos and presentation texts, brochures, a chat room, photos, the university website, contacts of the staff in charge of the different programmes.
Four new double diploma agreements: Austria, Bulgaria, Morocco, USA
The double degree from a partner university abroad is a diploma at a Master of Science (M2) degree level which enhances the students’ value on the labour market, especially if they wish to work abroad.
It is not a simple university exchange, but a one-year course at the partner institution during the 5th year of study.
The partner university accredits courses taken during the 4th year at the Leonardo da Vinci School of Management and the course taken abroad is also certified by the EMLV. Thus, students have the possibility of obtaining two diplomas recognised both in France and in their host country.
For the year 2020-2021, EMLV has four new double-degree agreements for study abroad, with courses in English :
- The MCI Management Center Innsbruck in Innsbruck, Austria: International Business & Management
- Varna University of Management, Bulgaria: MBA
- ESCA Morocco: International Business
- UCLA Extension USA: 8 certification programmes: Finance, Digital Marketing, General Business Studies, International Trade and commerce, Global Business Management, Finance Management
The international mobility offer is diverse at the EMLV. As a partner of more than 100 higher education institutions around the world, EMLV encourages the adaptability of its future managers to the world’s realities.
