As part of their final year of studies, 27 students from the class of 2023 in the Information Systems and Data Management specialisation paid a visit to the university and a consulting firm in the tech sector in partnership with the Universitat de Vic – Universitat Central de Catalunya (UVic).
This event marks the culmination of two years of master’s specialisation for EMLV students in information systems.
Inside Seidor Spain
In collaboration with the Universitat Central de Catalunya, students from the class of 2023 visited the university campus and the offices of Seidor Spain, a technology consulting company.
The visit aimed to learn more about the Spanish and international services offered by a tech consulting company, as well as to make business contacts and find out about recruitment opportunities.
Seidor offers solutions and services in innovation, customer experience, ERP, data analysis, employee experience, cloud, work environment and cybersecurity, particularly relevant to students in the ‘Information Systems and Data Management’ specialisation.
The visit was significant, as it inspired students to become digital transformation consultants, for example, one of the possible career paths after graduation.
Professional certification and company visit
At Seidor, the students discovered the #HumanizandoLaTecnología initiative, which means “humanising technology” in Spanish. This initiative resonated with the EMLV students. It aligns with De Vinci Higher Education’s sustainable development strategy to create technology for a sustainable future.
#DesignThinking certification
Seven certifications are offered to students in this master specialisation: Cisco, Scrum, Tableau Desktop, Microsoft Excel, DevOps, ITL 4, and the one provided by UVIC.
The Universitat de Vic – Universitat Central de Catalunya, an EMLV partner, welcomed students to its Barcelona campus for a short programme leading to certification in #DesignThinking.
This certification programme is a short university programme in Design Thinking and Leadership. It is an intensive short course designed to develop problem-solving, creativity and leadership skills. It focuses on applying the principles of Design Thinking, a human-centred approach, to solving complex problems.
The short programme gave students an in-depth understanding of the Design Thinking process, including stages such as problem definition, ideation, prototyping and testing. Participants learned to use specific tools and techniques to generate innovative ideas, collaborate in teams and rapidly test solutions.
In addition to Design Thinking skills, the programme also focuses on leadership development. This approach teaches students to communicate effectively, inspire and motivate others, make informed decisions, and manage change.
