Scientific excellence at EMLV

The quest for scientific excellence in today’s management schools is intrinsically linked to the significant increase in the number of academic publications in renowned international journals.

This quest is characterised not only by the quantity but also by the quality of research output, which in turn is assessed by various accreditation and labelling bodies such as the AACSB, EFMD Global, and Label DD&RS, which take into account the responsible nature of research and its impact beyond the academic world.

The definition of responsible research

Responsible research has two main components. Firstly, it must be helpful and accessible to the various stakeholders of the business school, including the academic community, students, the business world (made up of executives, managers, entrepreneurs, public decision-makers, etc.), the local community and society as a whole.

Furthermore, responsible research is based on interdisciplinary knowledge and dialogue between disciplines, which is crucial for tackling complex research issues linked to the environmental and societal transition.

These issues are characterised by the integration of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) defined by the United Nations in 2015.

Interdisciplinarity at EMLV: the driving force behind responsible research

Interdisciplinarity and accountable research are intrinsically linked; this is where EMLV stands out.
