How Did Coronavirus Boost E-Commerce Related Professions’ Recruitement?

Online purchases have drastically increased since the quarantine. In 2020 more than ever, E-commerce is a field with a high recruitment rate, and with the Christmas season approaching, job offers show no signs of stopping.

The current global pandemic, paired with the approaching holidays season, led most E-commerce fields to recruit new employees. E-commerce indeed includes various professions, all positively impacted by the Coronavirus crisis.

Logistics: An Essential Part Of E-Commerce With The Highest Number Of Job Offers

With more than 25 000 job offers concerning the professions of Sorting Agents and Order Pickers in France, logistics is a field that recruits. Amazon is, for example, one of the companies that is currently looking for Sorting Agents to sort, track, and take care of the packages.

With the increased number of online orders, companies need Forklift Operators: about 8 000 job offers. 4 800 Delivering Drivers positions are also currently needed.

While logistics might not be a field that most people think of when it comes to E-commerce, it is an essential part of the delivery process with high recruiting rates, both in small and big companies.

The Digital Field Is Recruiting

Digital is a field that was not impacted too negatively by the Covid-19 crisis. Considering the part that digital tools played during the quarantine regarding remote work, companies require Computer Developers to take care of the maintenance of those tools: about 16 000 job offers for this position. 2 000 Data Scientists are also needed, as well as 1 500 Community Managers.

Social media truly boomed during the pandemic, and while it was already essential for companies to pay attention to their online presence and e-reputation, especially on social media, it is now an absolute must, no matter the target audience of the company.

Aside from those two fields, Sales & Customer Relations and Marketing are also recruiting – Product Managers and Telemarketers are especially needed. One thing is sure: as long as E-commerce is there, no global pandemic will cancel Christmas!
