Learning to Code in Business School: a Two-Month Challenge for the Class of 2023

All first-year students from Business School EMLV will learn the basics of code in two months. Launched by coding school Le Wagon, this challenge will help future managers enhance their knowledge of digital.

Le Wagon adapted its 9-week intensive coding bootcamp for EMLV students and came up with a tailor-made programme.

Embracing the digital revolution

EMLV’s educational approach is focused on digital and on its effects on actual and future jobs. The Business School’s Master’s degree majors reflect this concern for digital transformation: Digital Human Resources, Digital Marketing Strategy, Digital Marketing et Data Analytics…

Logic had it that freshmen students benefited even more from these digital skills by taking an introduction to code class.

Philippe Wagner, Programme Director at EMLV sees this initiative as a way for future graduates to stand out from the crowd of business school candidates.

Coding 101 for business school students

In teams, the class of 2023 will take part in a two-month challenge. After a kick-off session by Le Wagon, they will follow online courses. At the end of the challenge, projects will be evaluated through video restitutions and the best will be presented to the school’s board of directors.

At the end of the challenge, students will be able to create a website with online payment and customer support features.

All along the programme, Le Wagon will help the students acquire coding skills by organizing online quizzes and supporting them technically if needed.

Year one of business school: acquiring the fundamentals of management

The three first years at EMLV offer classes that cover a variety of fundamentals including management finance, sales, marketing and human resources. EMLV continuously adapts its programmes to ever-changing economic trends in order to ensure that students are taught the latest, most up-to-date information.

As a key player in their own training, each student takes charge of their educational path and career objective with the support of academics, professional tutors, student alumni and the entire EMLV team.
