Lina Douis is a 5th year student who majors in Digital Marketing Strategy by day and blogs by night
“I chose the EMLV because it was located in the heart of the business district, and I was convinced that there would be a strong links with companies. I also knew that the school would open lots of doors for me. During my first year at the EMLV, I studied, among other things, finance, human resources, marketing strategies, law, economics…
I knew that I wanted to choose something creative, something that interested me. The EMLV gave me the opportunity to go abroad: one academic semester in North America where I studied marketing from a different, more international, perspective, and one semester where I worked as an assistant manager and promotional officer in a restaurant in the Dominican Republic.
Upon my return to France, I entered 4th year, specialized in marketing and got my first diploma. The module in public relations, taught by Isabelle Pascale, was a real eye opener for me, especially the project. To continue along this path, I decided to major in Digital Marketing Strategy which allowed me to apply the theoretical side of what is taught at the EMLV in practice, particularly through completing the junior consulting project. This major allows us to acquire various skills and knowledge through social media, performance indicators, and standards of referencing, smart devices…
PR is more than just a sector of industry; it’s a real passion for me..
During the E-marketing class, taught by Marie Haikel, we were assigned a project to create a blog in which we have to upload our CV and articles about a chosen theme. I wanted to be sure not make any mistakes so after one month of thinking it over, I decided to publish news about brands, specifically their marketing strategies (printing, videos) – an explanation followed by commentary.
Quite unexpectedly, I took a liking to it. In the last month, articles from my blog have been retweeted and liked by big corporations (Haribo, Orange, Canalsat) and mentioned by influential people in popular magazines (Elle, Marie Claire).”
