I’m Annamarie Galante; I’m from the Pennsylvania United States; I’m currently in the MSc program for Digital Business and Analytics.
Before this program, I had graduated from the University of Pittsburgh with a degree in Marketing.
I worked at a fintech startup, doing growth marketing and some sales development, and I knew that I wanted to hone into more technical skills, and I knew that I liked doing things regarding data analytics.
So I tried to gain more education uh with this. I lived in Lyon – France as a little girl, from three until I was six. I knew that I always wanted to come back. When the pandemic struck, I thought it was the perfect opportunity to take a horrible situation and turn it into something good and the ideal opportunity to gain the education I knew I needed to enter into any analytical role. So I started looking for schools in France.
After a lot of research, I found that the program at EMLV had the perfect combination of everything I wanted. I mean all the courses and the opportunities, the instructors, it was just perfect.
All the courses are incredibly hands-on, and they allow you to delve into any industry that you’d like and experience what it would be like in that industry.
For example, in a change management class, we had the opportunity to work with L’Occitane and make a formal advising plan for how L’Occitane could transition into an agile structure.
So this is just one example of how all the professors in the courses are built to get that authentic, real-life experience that will be useful in the workplace.
Build an international network in Paris
Within my class, there are people from over ten different countries and even more career backgrounds.
This opportunity has given me the chance to connect and form deep relationships and allow me to learn what their experience is like, what they’re in their world, in their country, and within the career industry and background they’ve been a part of as well.
And this connexion came even more beyond the classes, beyond the professors. What’s coming up for me is I have an internship in a French organization doing b2b marketing and communications, and I will be simultaneously working on my dissertation.
Next after that, I’m going back to the US, and I hope to take all of these incredible skills and newfound experiences and incorporate them into the workplace and hopefully an analytic marketing type of role.
Something unique that has come to me from this program is incredible friendships, and I genuinely mean that. I now have 20 friends from all over the world, and I’m just so thrilled that I got the opportunity to meet them and learn about them and I genuinely think that all these people will be my friends for life.
