Not only does international business support the development, strategy and management of organisations at a global level, but also shapes the competencies of future leaders and managers. The MSc International Business programme at EMLV business school will arm international students with the skills needed to think and work across borders, and Ivan from Argentina is the perfect example.

Pursuing a one year MSc International Business studies will allow students to develop highly portable knowledge and skills in strategic decision making and global expansion that will be of value to organisations around the world. The programme is designed to provide international students with the know-how to compete in the global business market. Ivan, an entrepreneur and adventurer shares his experience on how his studies combined an academic and practical approach that helped him share his experience in e-commerce and learn new notions and concepts:

It mixed what I already knew with what I wanted to learn more of, because it blended International Business, which I knew a little bit about, with digital strategy which is the direction where I want to take my career in.

What about the International experience?

The Bonus of having an international class is that after class, on the breaks, you get to discuss people’s home situation. I think that adds a lot of value.

International students change both the content of education and also the learning experience by breaking cultural boundaries. Ivan benefited a lot from the diverse mix of students, from 15 different nationalities, on a personal and academic level as a result of the group projects and how they enhanced his presentation skills.

In his spare time, Ivan loves to exercise and stay in shape, but his main passion is travelling. In fact, Paris is the hub that allows him to go anywhere in Europe and discover the world.

Bringing an international perspective to the classroom inriches the group projects and gives students a wider angle of analysis as well as a big room for human connection.
