Welcome to France: EMLV Business School awarded Campus France label

The EMLV Business School has achieved the Campus France label, for the quality of its welcome services and support systems aimed at international students studying abroad in France.

In France, only nineteen business schools, out of a total number of more than 200 establishments, have been certified according to the “Welcome to France” evaluation program. The EMLV Business School is among these few grandes ecoles distinguished by Campus France.

Study abroad in France: the attractiveness of French Higher Education

As part of the Bienvenue en France strategy, the national agency for the promotion of French higher education has developed the “Bienvenue en France” label, which sets a common quality standard for the policy of welcoming international students to French higher education institutions. The “Welcome to France” Label outlines concrete actions, which are in direct relation with the reality of the day-to-day life of international students.

The label serves as an information tool for international students on the actual welcoming conditions in institutions, as a promotion tool for the certified schools and, finally, as a quality control approach to improve the welcoming systems within the establishements.

To date, 189 higher education institutions have made an institutional commitment to the labelling process, including 119 that have filed their self-assessment forms and 102 that have been labelled following the labelling commissions held on 1 July, 16 October, 4 December 2019, 13 February, 28 May and 10 November 2020.

What is the “Welcome to France” label?

Coming to study abroad in France is not an easy decision for international students! On top of having to choose from among the many higher education institutions, they will have to find housing, understand the host country’s system and culture, and carry out all their administrative procedures, often with no more than a basic level of French.

So, how can you be sure to pick an institution that will be there to assist you in your studies but also in helping you settle in France?

The “Bienvenue en France” label was launched in 2019 by the Ministry of Higher Education, Research and Innovation, and is issued for four years by Campus France.

The idea of the “Bienvenue en France” programme is to make this choice more comfortable by introducing a label that covers the student’s practical experience: from finding an establishment to the follow-up provided by the establishment following the student’s stay in France.

The “Welcome to France” certification highlights the various initiatives developed by the establishment to support international students throughout the various stages of their stay in France. For this purpose, this label has set up multiple indicators organised into five different fields:

  • Access to a multilingual site and the digitisation of documentation to simplify registration.
  • Housing services to make it easier for students to settle in France
  • Access to a full-service counter to help them with their administrative procedures (CAF, CROUS, Prefecture, CPAM) and the availability of a welcome booklet to support their integration process in France.
