Siva Prasath is currently pursuing an MSc International Business at EMLV. He decided to study abroad in France for many reasons: “French art de vivre”, “Paris, city of light”, etc. Why at EMLV? He does not mince its words! “Because of its academic reputation and its location in Paris-La Defense”.
Siva Prasath Sivakumar comes from the city of Salem in the heart of the Indian Tamil Nadu region. After his formation, the 23 years old student plans to work in France.
How do you feel at EMLV?
From the first day I entered the school, I felt safe, comfortable and surrounded by kind people. I’ve never got bored inside the school. Activities are organized every week.
The associations are numerous, as well as sports facilities. There are more than 40 clubs on campus and 6 fully equiped sport rooms.
Sport is compulsory at school. I am a Handball player and I found a really good team which makes me feel proud.
Professors really care about international students. They support them in their efforts to gain skills and help them to find internships and ease their relations with companies.
What about the curriculum in itself?
EMLV curriculum focuses on management digital marketing, corporate finance, and trade. It aims at preparing students for their future in the professional world. The curriculum is framed to work in a global context.
My course structure is the following: for the first semester, I spend 6 months learning academics such as Global Strategy, International Digital Marketing, International Trade and visiting International firms and French Tech.
For the second semester, I will find a 6 months internship using the job portal that makes easier access all the opportunities listed by EMLV and available for me.
Alumni forums are really useful. I met many of them and learned more and more about the job market here and skills requirements in France.
The International Vinci team conducts events for us. For example, on 24 February 2019, “I pitch & meet” will help us to deepen our network while meeting partner companies. I’m looking forward to being a part of it since I want to work in France!
Why do you plan to work in France?
I would like to work in the Textile & Fashion industry since I have some prior experience in this field (an Internship in India). And I love to travel. As an international buyer/merchandiser, I would visit clients in many cities, explore new places, learn new things every day.
I wish to work in France because there are lots of opportunities in this field. That’s why I chose a school in France. Not only because “French art de vivre”, “Paris, City of light”, etc.
Why EMLV Business school? Because of its academic reputation and its location in Paris-La Defense. I spoke to lots of alumnis via LinkedIn and now they work in top companies. From their speech, I came to the conclusion of the quality of EMLV education and the good employability rate.
I also attended the event “Bonjour India” in Chennai, India where I interacted with EMLV International admission team. They definitely made me choose EMLV.
Anything to add?
Haha! Don’t listen to clichés! Some people say French are arrogant and they don’t answer if you speak in English; they won’t help you because they don’t have time for you. But, it’s totally wrong. They are kind and friendly. They greet us every time you meet them.
On the streets, when I ask French people in English, they answer kindly and they sometimes teach me how to say it in French. This happens to me frequently in Metro stations.
Meet Siva Prasath!
